AdultsSoloLow energy15-30 minNo setupCalm
What you need
- A camp chair or sleeping pad
- A warm layer
- Coffee or tea if desired
How to play
- 1.Set an alarm for 15 minutes before official sunrise. Check the time the evening before.
- 2.Carry a chair or pad to an east-facing spot with a clear view. Get there before first light.
- 3.Sit quietly. No phone, no book. Just watch the sky shift.
- 4.Notice: the order of color (grey → indigo → orange → yellow), the first sounds, the first movement.
- 5.Stay until full sun clears the horizon. That is usually 20-25 minutes.
Variations
- Sunrise journal: bring a notebook and write one observation per minute for 20 minutes.
- Shared sit: two people, same spot, no talking - compare notes after.
- Photo sequence: one photo every 2 minutes from first glow to full sun.
Safety notes
- Tell someone where you're going if you leave the campsite before others are awake.
- Bring a headlamp for the walk out in the dark.
